Johanna was recently interviewed by Chani Thompson on the Worthy Podcast, in a conversation designed for people who want to better understand, and better support, someone raising a neurodivergent child.

The discussion focused on translating what can feel like a complex, unfamiliar world into something clearer and more usable. Johanna walked through the day-to-day realities of parenting a child with additional needs – navigating medical systems, education pathways, and constant decision-making – so listeners could better grasp what sits behind the scenes.

The full episode will be released shortly – keep an eye out on the Worthy instagram page here.

A key part of the conversation was unpacking common misconceptions. She addressed how language, assumptions, and well-intended but misplaced responses can unintentionally add pressure, and what more supportive engagement actually looks like in practice. The emphasis wasn’t on getting everything “right,” but on understanding context, reducing judgment, and showing up in a way that genuinely helps.

Drawing on both lived experience and her clinical background, Johanna also shared practical ways people can support – whether that’s friends, family, educators, or colleagues. The result is a conversation that gives listeners a clearer lens and a better understanding of what matters, as well as how to be someone who makes things easier for the people navigating it.
